technically hollywood is very far ahead hollywood makes us use our head and bollywood our hearts.it depends on what we are looking for,but we, nevertheless get entertained in the process,songs are a bonus item thrown in either to listen or to look.bollywood is moving forward which is great but it should not forget its roots in where she gained the world s notice.my 2 cents worth.

Let's talk in terms of time. Where Hollywood has brought their society? Shattered relations, life for nothing, glamour-wrapped deep agonies - a market for faces beauties and bodies. And where Bollywood is going to take their society in few deades? Somewhere nearby where Hollywood stands today.

Bollywood feels very own while Hollywood is a global name with no father no mother.As amatter of fact I do like hollywood movies but more indian movies score more than them.Reson being...playback and dances.technically bollywood is no more a novice.A lot can be said but in short,hollywood is dreamland while Bollywood is more close to our facts and customs.I love it all the way.

I forgot to mention - movies that address real India issues require a major focus. The Janta needs to stay with the times with equal opportunity - and Bollywood has and should do more consciouslly. There are many issues which can be addressed - like HIV / AIDS, SEX Education, community based real stories to connect with the real people of the soil....... not the dressed up fantasy idols of Mumbai Bollywood. The caring for the masses lacks in most themes. The bad guy is a great reflection of a society in turmoil ... a melting pot . Thanks for sharing and posing the question. ~Ari

You know what - the Indian filmi industry has had a great bse to work from..... some really talented Godfathers of the industry like Raj Kapoor, Chopra - nt to mention the kool marriage that exists only with the presence of 'music'. The list of singers is unique to the sub-continent - and every day, there is a new brick of accomplishment to be proud of. This is mass enetertainment at its best. If Hollywood started the ball rolling - Bollywood will ensure there is lots of ground to work on with vast resourse available .... form actors to locations to music talent. Go BOLLYWOOD GO!!

I like both. Script and natural acting is the main thing. If it is weak then film is a flop! Some Bollywood movies are copied from Hollywood which is losing the true identity of Bollywood. Modernisation and international theme is a good thing as well as addressing the hot and current issues but at the same time don't forget the culture, traditions and local people who get so much influence from these movies esp the young kids! The worst thing about Some Bolly movies are showing the fake and unreal world...I'd personally like a movie that would reflect life in true essence. We want to enjoy and entertain ourselves but the at the same time a good morale in the end is not a bad idea at all!

Why should i bother about hollywood when bollywood rocks. Can i get Rafi, Kishore, Sanu, Kavita, Alka, Shreya, Sonu on Hollywood ????? Hell with Hollywood.

ofcourse..bollywood films dont depict the true indian identity,dwelling more often in the realm of tasteless fantasy which is grossly misdirected!There is no real story,acting is mediocre,absolutely no originality...frankly most films are a waste of time!
